This coffee table was produced in the United Kingdom in the 1930's. It is completely made from bakelite; the earliest kind of plastic. It is exceptionally large for this material. Everything of the design is functional: even the ridge on the edge of the top is there to stop avoid the occasional spilled tea from falling on the ground. Although it is almost a century old, I think the design still looks modern today. The table is in an excellent condition, without any damage.
