Table Wim Rietveld Andre Cordemeyer Gispen 1954
Model 531 by Wim Rietveld and André Cordemeyer has a functional design, reducing the use of material to a minimum. The thin metal legs are reinforced only where needed and so is the wooden top, which is finished with a layer of black linoleum. The result of this pragmatic approach is a light weight table of contrasting materials that looks beautifully unpretentious. This one is the biggest version. It is 125 cm wide (the smaller one is a 100 cm wide). It is in a very good condition considering it's age and it's use (as these tables were often used to work on). It has one dent in the linoleum of about 1,5 cm and some smaller user marks. The grey paint on the legs is original and undamaged. The rubber feet are also still there.
