Acrilica light object, Gianni and Joe Colombo
This was the first and last project the two brothers Joe and Gianni Colombo did together. It was awarded with the gold medal at the XIII Trienniale in Milan.
After the Acrilica Joe left the artworld to focus fully on design, while Gianni became a leading exponent of the kinetic and programmed art. Bending space had been a reoccuring theme in his work. In the Acrilica the light travels through this bent space thanks to the conductive properties of the material
Condition: Like practically all old originals, it has some scratches on the diifuser, but in this case they are mostly concentrated on the bottom. The middle and top are still very clear and the original paint of the base is completely intact
