Octagonal art deco pottery box 1920's

A very nice hand made, pale yellow pottery box from the 1920's. The handpainted art deco pattern shows a mirrored image of a growing spira and a starlike explosion. One could interpret it as a geometric drawing of the Big Bang, but it was created long before that theory emerged. The box has a number underneath. My guess is that it was made in Bavaria, Germany.

The bottom part has a hairline as can be seen in the close up picture. It is stable and hardly visible, but of course the price is set accordingly.
