Plywood trolley, Cees Braakman, Pastoe 1950
One of Cees Braakman's first designs. As a young man he travelled to the United States where he visited the Herman Miller factory. He was inspired by the technique of bending plywood applied by Ray and Charles Eames in their organic chairs (inspired by Alvar Aalto). Back home in the Netherlands Braakman designed this beautiful serving trolley for his fathers company UMS Pastoe. This dark brown version is quite rare. It is completely original and functional with only superficial traces of use.
