The sculptural model 629, or "Cobra" by Elio Martinelli.
It is made out of two pivoting parts of moulded resin, which was highly innovative at the time. The inside of the shade is aluminium to reflect the light. The base can rotate 360 degrees, making it a very flexible design.
Over the years the production process has undergone some shortcuts, like an added black screw on the neck. It makes it less elegant in my opinion. But the design is so strong tat it can take it.
This is an original from the first series in an excellent condition. A timeless classic beauty
