A beautiful marriage between function and geometry, the Cobra from 1968 has become a timeless classic. Its base can rotate 360 degrees and so can the upper half, making it very flexible and elegant, like an interactive sculpture.
The Cobra is quite big and heavy. Over the years the production process has undergone some shortcuts. This is the original first version in a beautiful condition. It is made out of moulded resin, which was highly innovative at the time. The inside of the shade has the original aluminium to reflect the light. The lamp is marked on the bottom. It still has the original Castiglioni switch.
