A beautiful pendant model NB23, designed by Niek Hiemstra in 1959 for Philips. Hiemstra ran his own lighting company Evolux, but Philips' creative director Louis Kalff recognised his talent. This is an exceptional collaboration between Hiemstra and Philips.
While its colors yellow, black and silver are playful, the design itself is technical, as can be expected of Philips. The shade blocks the direct light from your eyes. The outside is lacquered in textured black. Hanging beneath it, a perspex diffuser creates a pleasant glow, balancing the light optimally in all directions
This is a rare original from the fifties in an excellent condition.
