Sculptural cocoon floor lamp 1950's
A rare floor lamp from the 1950's that is adjustable in height. It stands on a tripod base with brass details. The conical shape is made out of a resin that is spun over its ribs. It has some signs of ageing concentrated on one side. The material is very delicate and it is amazing that it is still in such a condition after all those years. It emits a wonderful soft light. The brass circle on top serves as a handle and looks almost like an alchemistic symbol.
This model is similar to lamps designed by H. Klingele for Artimeta, but I have never seen one like this one. It is more exclusive and elaborate. A very sculptural piece
