A rare, possibly unique desk lamp from the 1980's. I have never seen one like it. It is post modern in every way. We found it in Italy. Some details remind us of designs by Alessandro Mendini, but the maker is unknown to us. The vertical acrylic layer transports the light to the outside, creating an interesting effect. On closer inspection we came to the concluson that this lamp is too well produced to be a DIY project, but too unfinished to be an official end product. The bottom has never been painted and it doesn't even have a switch! (we can add one if you like). Could it be a prototype?
The lamp is in a good condition. The wooden base has some cracks and the acrylic has some light scratches as can be seen in the pictures.
This is a very special piece. It might be the only one of its kind, yet it is a great example of 1980's design.
