A fantastic lamp with an extreme diabolo shape. A large terracotta coloured shade narrows down to an ultimately thin middle piece made of teak, which is flanked by two brass rings. It functions as a downlight and an uplight. This beautiful dreamy lamp is very rare and in an almost untouched condition.
The diabolo shape is typical for a new generation of designers that emerged in the middle of the 20th century. They wanted to get rid of the dominant Bauhaus doctrine of "form follows function". They were inspired by surrealist art, which in turn was inspired by Sigmund Freuds dream theories.
