Zero Visibility table lamp, Matteo Thun and Andrea Lera, Bieffeplast 1985
A rare, original 1980's table lamp from one of the founders of the influential Memphis Milano design group.
Part of a series of lamps in the shape of a city scape, this lamp is the spectacle of the series; a boxing ring. But ironically, as the name implies, there is nothing to see. Of course it is a pun, because it is a lamp it will make things visible. Or should we interpret the shade literally as the shape of a zero?
The lamp may look as a toy, but the production is high quality. The base, as well as the switch are made of lacquered metal, the shade is opaline glass.
The lamp is in a good vintage condition A tiny spot of lacquer loss on the base and residue of glue on some of the corners (mostly in the back)
