4 MR10 dinner chairs, Mies van der Rohe, Knoll 1970
Designed in 1927 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe at the Bauhaus, the MR10 has become a timeless icon of 20th century modernism. These four chairs were produced around 1970. At that time Knoll did not yet press their logo into the metal frame as they do now. Instead, they marked the chairs with simple stickers, which have long been removed. To identify a vintage Knoll MR10 one has to look at the production quality and details like the lacing and the little welded hook that prevents the leather backrest from sliding down.
