First version Eames model 6865 / EA104 desk chair
Designed in 1957, the Eames Aluminium Group chair was first intended for indoor and outdoor use. As a weather resistant fabric they used naugahide (vegan leather). Real leather, mesh and hopsack came with later models. Another distiction with later versions is the 4 star Pedestal base with nylon glides. This one has armrests and it swivels; the most exclusive option at the time. The Herman Miller logo is stamped into the base.
The chair is in a good vintage condition with usermarks that fit it's age. All of the marks are shown in the pictures.
