"More or Less" chair, Rohe Noordwolde 1960's
To us this nameless model from the sixties has a philosophical quality. Let us try to explain why...
It is made of a single, long rattan spiral, approaching the center, leaving it open. Uncertain, but you do get an idea of it. Isn't that how we perceive the world? And from this idea we also approach it. We take things from nature and bend them into our cognitive representations, but there will always be imperfections. Perfect geometric forms only exist as idas and formulas. The perfect spiral does not exist in reality, but we can try to approach it. That is what this chair does. So we decided to call it the "More or less chair".
