Sale: Oase chairs, Wim Rietveld for Ahrend de Cirkel 1958
His career may be somewhat overshadowed by his famous father Gerrit Rietveld, but Wim Rietveld too was an outstanding designer. These "Oase" chairs from 1958 won the prestigeous Signe d'Or price of 1959.
These are two fantastic originals in a great condition, but with a small defect which most vintage Oase chairs have: Three of the bakelite armrests are slightly damaged. The fabric is still original and in a great condition for its age. The same counts for the frame.
