Rare Auping chair, anonymous 1930's
To construct a chair out of tubular steel is like drawing a line in three dimensional space to create a backrest and a seat in one go and in this case even adding armrests. It's quite unique how they support the back. I think you can see the experiment in it. Auping sometimes produced chais in very small numbers. I have seen this only in the collection of the Technical University TU Delft.
The chair has probably been painted over once a long time ago, but we are not sure, because the colors resemble the original. The paint is very old and has a nice patina
