A single spiral of rattan is bent to create the seat. Nothing is hidden The cane is simply fixed asymmetrically on the outside and the inside. Although the seats have a typical mid-century modern shape, the craftsmanship of working with rattan has a long tradition in the north of Holland where they were produced by Rohe Noordwolde in the 1960's. They are a synthesis of tradition and modernism, industry and craftsmanship, culture and nature. These chairs are hard to find, let alone a set with a ladies and a gentleman's version. Both are in an excellent vintage condition.
