Surrealist Tongue chair, Pierre Paulin, Artifort 1967

Could Pierre Paulin's Tongue chair refer to Salvador Dali's famous Lips Sofa from 1935? It certainly looks very surrealistic, especially in this red colour. The Tongue chair is part of the collection of the MoMa. This chair has served mainly as a surrealist sculpture; it has hardly been used to sit on. Sunlight has discoloured the top part a bit. We did lower the price accordingly, but to be honest; the lighter top makes it look even more like a giant tongue on the floor. We love it!
