S43 cantilever arm chair, Mart Stam
A history laden chair. Mart Stam was the inventor of the tubular chair (arguably at the same time as Marcel Breuer). The use of metal tubes for the frame was no less than revolutionary. In fact it was so influential that this chair may seem "normal" now. The S43 model can be recognised by the pointed corners of the plywood backrest. The ends of the tubes are welded, which shows the quality of the production. The chair is in a beautiful vintage condition.
