A PAIR OF 1407 EASY CHAIRS, WIM RIETVELD GISPEN 1954
A pair of beautifully minimal Gispen 1407 easy chairs, designed by Wim Rietveld in 1954. This is the larger version of the more common Gispen 1401 chair. The 1407 is 5 cm larger and deeper. In contrast to the 1401 the back is also upholstered.
The chairs have been reupholstered with Kvadrat fabric. The foam has also been renewed. They're in an excellent condition, only one of them has been repainted under the seat. This is a bit strange, because the rest of the paint is original. Because this is under the seat it is not visible. They look fantastic. The black bakelite armrests. are also still intact
