LCM, Eames, 2nd gen Herman Miller 1954-1960

A design icon that kick started the Eames' career and well deserved fame, Designed in 1946, the LCM was part of a small group of chairs with plywood seats that were bent in all directions. It may seem like a fairly normal modern chair now, but it was revolutionary at the time. So many designeers followed its example. In my opinion its subtle elegance and minimalism is still as beautiful as it was back then.

This is a rare 2nd generation Herman Miller chair, which can be recognised by the bootglides as feet. And also by the shape of the backrest connectors. This version is still made out of solid steel, in contrast to the later, hollow versions. Its estimated production dat is between 1954 and 1960.

It remains in a wonderful condition. One of the boot glides has a tear as can be sen in the pictures. A new spare set of glides is included in the price. The Walnut veneer is still absolutely beautiful
