Pre-war B32/S32 chair Marcel Breuer, Thonet 1930's
The B32/S32, designed in 1928/29 is probably the most succesful tubular cantilever chair of all time. Certainly after the war it became an ubiquitous symbol of modernist functioinalism. This chair is from before the war. It is the model with the straight back rest, which was produced by Thonet after 1933.
The chair has an amazing patina and it is compeletely intact except for one missing screw at the bottom (which does not affect the stability). The chrome tube shows some normal signs of age. The old woven, cane seat has been beautifully preserved. A true icon of modern history
